may 23

Today was our 3rd grade program for the parents. The students were darling and did a great job. It hardly feels like the last week of school because it's been so rainy and cool. Not typical "school's out for the summer" weather.
cardigan: LOFT (hand-me-down--yes, I wore it last week)
dress: Anthro Perilla (August 2010)
necklace: BR outlet (July 2010)
shoes: TOMS (June 2010)

Hi! I stumbled across your blog on google I think.. I love checking in to see what you wear to work. I am a first year teacher- teaching third grade at a small Christian school. I love it, but I'm always trying to find clothes that I can wear to work and out on my days off as well! Since there are only few teachers in our faculty, I wanted to ask you what you see in public schools in terms of nail polish. I am loving the new trends of bright (daring) colors and I'm not really sure what's "professional"/acceptable. I've worn dark purple/almost black and my boss doesn't say anything, but now with summer right around the corner, I'm wondering if like bright colors such as teal/orange are too much for being a teacher? What do you see in your school or think?

Welcome! I'm glad you found this!
My friends (who are teachers) and I wear whatever colors we want/like. We each work at a different school, and no one has said anything to either of us about our nail color. I like wearing bright colors. The kids notice and usually compliment it. So, I say keep doing what you're doing. If there's a problem, I'm sure someone will say something.
Congrats on finishing your first year!!
