Happy Easter! It has been a great weekend. My parents came in to town to pick up my little sister from college. She finished her freshman year; way to go, Rebekah! A couple of my cousins graduated this week, so other family members were in town. We had a fabulous day of church, a yummy dinner, and fun conversations. Hope you had a wonderful Easter as well!
Finished up the language portion of the test. I'm glad to have half of it done. Math monster is next week. (AAAHHH) Superintendent stopped in today. I never know what to do when the "authorities" come in. Do I stop and say hello? Do I continue teaching? Do I ask if they need something? I always end up continuing on with teaching.
End of year testing began today. I was SO happy when one of my lower students choose "thesaurus" as a book to find other words similar to the underlined word. I also love this sweater. I wish I knew how to style it more ways.
First day back from spring break. My students were very good. I was extremely pleased when they walked in from specialists and sat down quietly as I was talking with the special ed teacher. I couldn't believe it! I didn't have to ask them to quiet down or anything. One of the best moments of the year.
This week has been spring break. This is one Friday that I'm very sad that it is Friday. Although, once I get back, it's going to go by quickly. End of year testing, class talent show, 3rd grade program, Hershey track meet, field day, walking city field trip, etc.
For spring break, I went to DC to visit my best friend and her husband. It was so fun to see them, eat at fantastic restaurants, and visit the District again. I lived in DC a couple summers ago, so it was great to return to my old stomping grounds. I love that place. I'm updating my personal blog; check that out for more pictures.
Today was April Fool's. I did just about nothing for it. My students and I were so busy that we (mainly I) forgot about it. Last year, a 5th grade teacher and I switched classes for the first half hour of school. What have you done to your students or coworkers? I need some ideas for next year.

We had a class auction. A student brought in this hat. Isn't it money?! Hahaha
I did a cheer when I arrived at school today: 1) my principal is gone for the next 1.5 weeks and 2) I don't have my student teacher anymore. My little teacher did a fabulous job, and I really enjoyed having her, but I love having my classroom and freedom and prep time back. And every person knows what it's like when the boss is away. Jeans from here on out!

My jeans were extra tight this morning. I was surprised and confused. I mean, I know I haven't been the best with my eating and gym attendance lately, but I didn't think I had gained 10 lbs. I then remembered that I had just washed them. Phew!!
